Stained glass at St John the Baptist’s Anglican Church http://www.stjohnsashfield.org.au, Ashfield, New South Wales. Illustrates Jesus’ description of himself “I am the Good Shepherd” (from the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verse 11). This version of the image shows the detail of his face. The memorial window is also captioned: “To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of William Wright. Died 6th November, 1932. Aged 70 Yrs.” (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I have noted the attacks on Christians recently for pointing out when asked why did this happen. Why they felt it was happening. They say we have forgotten God then try to explain what they mean, but they are ridiculed before they are allowed to finish. Then attacked with the rhetoric of the left and socialist condemnation of God their religion namely Christianity and the front run the Catholic Church. These detractors ask where was your God or why did your God do this. Our god would not allow such evil why does yours? It was not God who committed these heinous acts, but evil men who had who have no compassion yet do have a learned passion for murder.

As they have tied to say:

We as a nation turned our backs on a moral code which taught do not do murder, then we gave to our children for fifty plus years now video games, movie and music most of which says murder ,kill, destroy anyone and all you can. All this time some of us of the Christian community have said this is insane and this is why; for we foresaw the ends of this the results of turning away from a code our fore-fathers praised. Yet we were laughed at and ridiculed as we are now for the left wants to blame guns not people. They want to destroy religion namely Christianity and first and foremost the Catholic Church.

Had we taught our children murder is a heinous crime against all men perhaps this would not have happened, but we gave to them all these things that say murder kill for points. This is the problem this is a big part of why. Now they will have studies and more studies and in the end say it’s the gun. No! The gun is but one tool the murder can use there are many, many more. The real problem is what we no longer teach. We do not teach our children to have respect honor and compassion. We now teach feel and spacial. Their parents did not learn the truth of respect and perhaps the grandparents. Respect is earned and learned it comes with conditions, so I ask again name the god anyone is forced to worship? Where is the idol and whose name is cursed far more in our nation. Why is teaching that a day of rest evil? Why is it evil to say honor your mother and father and other adults? Why is it evil to respect and honor your spouse or as the gay’s say partner? Why it evil to say adultery is wrong, is it now good in this new age a virtue? why is it evil to say stealing, lying and envy are wrong; have they to also become our new age virtues?

It seems we seek to blame an object and we make an illness the reason for the horrid events in this way we ease our minds so take comfort and solace in the simple; if’s. The if only, if only we ban all guns; we shall be safe, if only we lock up or monitor then medicate all we feel are ill we will be safe. No, we will not for we will not have addressed the problem, we have not trained our children to have compassion and empathy for others. For even now we do not teach love your fellow-man as you do your self for this is a Christian moral decree.

So in the end we may well give up a civil right for  perceived security and safety but another nation did that many years ago and a world war ensued.
